Dorchester Two Makes News for Dimension M Video Game
COMPASS Learning Software
COMPASS Learning software is one of the premier software packages offered to schools. COMPASS is a computer based program used at ROMS to help each student with their individualized learning. What could be better than a program to work on specific skills to help each student succeed in their educational career? If a student is not doing well in math, for example, this program will work on a specific area of math that student needs to practice. The individualized instruction can help those students that need help with basic multiplication facts and also help other students that need extra practice in trig. COMPASS not only covers math, but also English, , Public Speaking, Science and Social Studies. All of the lessons provided by the COMPASS software are backed by the rigorous South Carolina Educational Standards.

GATE REFERRALS
Gifted Program Testing Information - Dorchester District Two is now seeking referrals for its gifted program from current 6th and 7th grade students. Referrals will be accepted until February 3rd for the testing that will take place February 11th . Any student who is state identified as gifted does not need to participate in the screening process. If you are interested in referring your 6th or 7th grade child for screening, please complete the application sent along with your child's report card. If your child has been "placed" in a GT class, he/she will be tested. Notification will be sent home before the end of the school year informing you of your child’s eligibility status for the 2010-2011 GATE program.
